وهو غزير المادة، كثير الفائدة، ومن أنفع الكتب التاريخية الإسلامية نال شهرة عالمية في الأوساط الأدبية، والعلمية مما حدا بالمستشرق الأستاذ (بارتولد) أن يترجمه إلى الروسية، والمؤرخ الشهير خليل أدهم نقله إلى الكردية أيضاً مزوداً بالإصلاحات، وبعض الإضافات اللازمة.
وكان جل اعتماداً المستشرق (زنبارو) عليه في إخراج كتابه الكبير (تاريخ الملوك والأسر الحاكمة في الإسلام) حيث جعله في الطليعة من مصادرة الكثيرة ووضع له فهارس، ومشجرات الكتاب عليه بعد أن راجع مآخذه فالكتاب هذا لا يستغني عنه رواد، وكتاب التاريخ الإسلامي الذين يريدون منبعاً صحيحاً ومأخذاً سليماً من تأريخ تنصيب، وتمليك ووفيات ملوك وسلاطين الإسلام حيث يستطيع المراجع أن يستخرج منه ما يريد بسرعة، وسهولة لا يجدها في غيره من مئات الكتب الأخرى لحسن تبويبه وتنسيق فهارسه.
