هذا الكتاب هو العدد الثاني من سلسلة دراسات وثائقية التي ولدت عملاقة، وهو كتاب مهم ينشر فيه مؤلفه الدكتور عمر رياض مجموعة منتقاة من وثائق ضابط سوري خدم في الجيش التركي اسمه زكي كرام كان قد شارك في الحرب العالمية الأولى وأصيب في جبهة سيناء، ونقل إلى ألمانيا للعلاج، حيث أقام في برلين وتزوج من ألمانية، وساهم بشكل كبير في تدعيم الجيوش العربية في اليمن والسعودية والكويت وغيرها بالأسلحة الألمانية، كما كان له دور مهم في الحركة الإسلامية في أوربا في فترة ما بين الحربين العالميتين، وكان على اتصال بزعماء الحركة الإسلامية في البلاد العربية من أمثلا رشيد رضا وغيره، ولعب دوراً مهماً في تفعيل الخطاب الألماني الموجه للبلاد العربية قبيل واثناء الحرب العالمية الثانية من خلال إذاعة راديو برلين ومجموعة الوثائق هذه مجموعة نادرة ومتميزة، ولا مثيل لها في الأرشيفات العربية، حيث عثر عليها الدكتور عمر رياض في منزل هارون الرشيد بن زكي كرام، وهي تساهم في سد ثغرة كبيرة في التاريخ العربي في فترة ما بين الحربين العالميتين، وهي ليست فقط مجموعة وثائق ومراسلات وعقود لصفقات سلاح، بل تتميز بوجود مجموعة نادرة من الصور الفوتوغرافية التي تصور حال الجزيرة العربية في تلك الفترة التي كانت تمر فيها بمرحلة مخاض سياسي نتج عنه الوضع السياسي الراهن للجزيرة العربية.
