يوثّق هذا الكتاب الكثير من حياة المناضل حنّا إبراهيم ميخائيل (أبو عمر)، ومساهمته الفكريّة والسياسيّة والإعلاميّة في الثورة الفلسطينيّة، حيث يتضمّن العديد من محاضرات (أبو عمر) وكتاباته التثقيفيّة والتعبويّة، وشهاداتٍ من أفراد عائلته وزملائه أيّام الدراسة والعمل ورفاق دربه في الثورة الفلسطينيّة، إضافةً إلى مقالاتٍ كتبت عنه ومراجعاتٍ لكتابه: (السياسة والوحي: الماروديّ وما بعده).
ويتضمّن الكتاب الرواية الدقيقة المفصّلة الوحيدة لرحلة البحث عنه وعن رفاقه الّذين اختفوا بعد توجّههم في قارب من بيروت إلى طرابلس في مهمّة لحماية المخيّمات الفلسطينيّة، في عام 1976، في أوج الحرب الأهليّة اللبنانيّة.
