"انسي أمره"، نصحها الأصدقاء. لكنّها لم تقدر. لا بدّ من وجود تفسير لغيابه. فهي تثق فيه. وثقتها كانت في محلّها. فعلًا، ثمّة سبب لاختفاء إيدي، سببٌ لم يقوَ كلّ سحر الحبّ على تجاوزه، ولم تفلح كلّ الإلفة التي نشأت بينها وبينه في لحظة في طمسه. سببٌ يتعلّق بهوية الآخر في الواقع، قبل أن يضفي عليه الحبّ واقعًا مختلفًا، بهوية أُخرى.
