... وحين تفتح أمي الصندوق لا تسمح لأحد يمدّ يده إليه، كنا نرى الأشياء مطوية ومرتبة بعضها فوق بعض بألوان كثيرة، ونرى كذلك أكياساً مغلقةً لا تعرف ما فيها.
تغلق أمي الصندوق وتضع المفتاح في عبِّها.
ونحن الأولاد، لم ننته من الأعراس بعد، ففي كل يوم نملأ البيت ضجيجاً وصخباً بأعراس طفولية لها نكهة النعناع، تفاجئنا أمي فنصمت حجلاً لكنّها تخلّصنا من إرتباكنا حين نغنّي معنا ونفتح لنا الصندوق وترشُّ علينا عطر ورد.
