فى عام 458ق.م أى قبل وفاته بعامين فقط ، عرض إيسخيلوس "الثلاثية الأوريستية" التى يدور موضوعها الرئيسى حول توارث اللعنة من تانتالوس إلى بلوبس إلى أتريوس ، ثم استكمال الحلقة الجهنمية ، حلقة الجريمة والعقاب ، على يد باقى أفراد العائلة (أجاممنون ، وكليتمنسترا ، وأوريستيس) حتى تصفح ربات الانتقام عن اوريستيس ابن اجاممنون ، الذى تلوثت يداه بدم أمه انتقاما لأبية وبذلك ترفع اللعنة عن آل ذلك البيت
يتناول الجزء الثانى من الثلاثية والذى يحمل عنوان "حاملات القرابين" عودة أوريستوس لإلى وطنه والانتقام لأبيه بقتل أمه وعشيقها أيجستوس
تنقسم هذه المسرحية إلى جزئين : الجزء الاول لا يكاد يتعدى كونه مرئية أو بكائية على قبر اجاممنون يشارك فيها أوريستيس شقيقته إليكترا
أما الجزء الثانى من المسرحية ، فبشهادة معظم النقاد يظهر براعة أيسخولوس فى استخدام الحيل الدرامية وفى رسم الشخصيات وتصاعد الأحداث على نحو فريد ، وتدور أحداثه بعد مضى سنوات عديدة على ما عرضه فى الجزء الأول من أحداث انتهت بمقتل أجاممنون وأسيرته الأميرة الطروادية كاسندرا.
