إن برنامج Illustrator CS3 هو أحدث إنتاجات شركة Adobe العالمية في مجال التصميم، يقدم الكتاب الدليل الكامل لإتقان وإستخدام برنامج Illustrator CS3 من قبل المستخدم العربي حيث إعتمد الكتاب على أحدث نسخة عربية من البرنامج وهي النسحة المعتمدة لعامي 2009- 2010. يقدم برنامج Illustrator CS3 إمكانات هائلة للمصمم ويستخدم البرنامج بشكل واسع عالمياً في تصميم الشعارات والإعلانات الضخمة بالإضافة إلى رسم الشخصيات الكرتونية وتصميم المواقع الإلكترونية ورسم الخرائط الدقيقة وتجهيز التصاميم الفنية الثنائية والثلاثية الأبعاد ( 2D و 3D ). يتميز البرنامج بإنسيابية خطوطه وسهولة الرسم فيه ودعم اللغة العربية وخطوطها، ومن ميزاته أيضاً كونه يعتمد على تحويل الخطوط المرسومة إلى كائن رياضي لذا يمكننا تكبير العمل الفني فيه عشرات أضعاف حجمه دون أن يتأثر الشكل الجمالي للعمل، وهذا غير ممكن في برامج أخرى كالـ Photoshop مثلاً. يعتبر الكتاب إضافة نوعية إلى المكتية المعلوماتية العربية وهو كتاب لا غنى عنه لأي مصمم محترف.
