كتاب في الحديث اشتمل على أنواع ما تلزم معرفته من أحاديث العقائد والأحكام والحكم، والترغيب والترهيب، والشمائل والفضائل، والمعجزات والكرامات المتعلقة به صلى الله عليه وسلم وبغيره من بعض الأنبياء والمرسلين، والصحابة والصالحين من الأولين والآخرين، وكل ما ينفع في الدنيا والدين كأوصاف البرزخ والقبور والبعث والنشور، وأحوال يوم القيامة وأوصاف الصراط والمحشر والحوض والكوثر والجنان والنيران، وما فيهما لأهل الكفر والإيمان وغير ذلك من المواعظ والرقائق، والأسرار والحقائق مأخوذة من الصحيحين للبخاري ومسلم- رضي الله عنهما- وكما ذكر الشيخ الإمام النبهاني في مقدمته: وقد جمعت ما في الجامعين: "الكبير والصغير" للسيوطي، والزيادة من أحاديثهما في هذا الكتاب وسميته "منخب الصحيحين من كلام سيد الكونين صلى الله عليه وسلم" وجملة ما اشتمل عليه (3010) أحاديث منها (240) في الخاتمة، وكلها من "الجامع الكبير" وفيها آثار عن الصحابة".
