بحثٌ فقهيٌّ مؤصَّل، في حكم الصلاة على النبي صلَّى الله عليه وسلم في تكبيرات العديدين، سار فيه المؤلف بتسلسل منطقي، مفتتحاً بتأصيل المعنى الصحيح للبدعة، فبيان مشروعية التكبير في العيدين، وأنه لا تتعيّن له صيغة واحدة، مبيّناً خلاف العلماء في صِيَغِه من لدن فقهاء الصحابة رَضِيَ الله عنهم. ثم أثبت مشروعية الصلاة على النبي صلَّى الله عليه وسلم في تكبيرات العيدين على ما جرى عليه جماهير المسلمين عصوراً متعاقبة، مدللاً لذلك من كلام الأئمة وفقهاء المذاهب الأربعة، ذاكراً بعض ما استندوا إليه من دلائل، خاتماً بذكر طرفٍ من أدب السلف الصالح في الاختلاف، ناقداً مقولة بعضهم (أقوال العلماء يستدل لها لا بها) لما فيها من إهدار كلام الأئمة والاستهانة بأقدارهم. وفي ذيل هذا الكتاب اللطيف فتويان من هيئتين شرعيتين تبينان صوابَ ما ذهب إليه المؤلف في كتابه هذا.
