لم تكن الكويت معصومة من انقلابات اجتماعية كانت تقع بصمت وتتابع، دون أن يلتفت إليها أحد، أو يرغب في التنبيه عليها أحد، إلا قلة من الكويتيين ذهبت أصواتهم أدراج رياح التغيير الاجتماعي التي كانت تهب عنيفة صخّابة من كل مكان. وقد زاد في عنفها وصخبها أن الكويت بعد 19-6-1961، لم تصبح دولة مستقلة وحسب؛ ولكنها أصبحت دولة غنية أيضاً. ولو كان هذا الكتاب كتاباً سياسياً أو كتاباً في علوم السياسة لأوغل في تفسير المتاعب التي كانت تعانيها الكويت، غير أن واضع هذا الكتاب معنيّ بالجانب الإنساني من "التجربة الكويتية" التي عاصرها وعايشها ثلاثة وعشرين عاماً. كان ينفعل بها ويتفاعل معها من حجرات الدرس في جامعة الكويت أو أبهاء "الجمعية الكويتية لتقدم الطفولة العربية" أو استديوهات تلفزيون الكويت، أو من خلال إدارته للبحوث العلمية التي قادت إلى الإنتاجين الناجحين الأول والثاني من برنامج "افتح يا سمسم" في مؤسسة الإنتاج البرامجي لدول الخليج العربية. من خلال أولئك جميعاً كانت "التجربة الكويتية" تبهره وتستهويه وتشده أبداً، إذ كانت الدراما الاجتماعية تتفتح أمامه كل يوم عن وجه جديد من وجوهها أو تكشف له عن ثنية من ثناياها... رصدها وكشف وقائعها وتحدث عن أبعادها الإنسانية الخطيرة في هذا الكتاب.
