في هدأة العمر الآفل، يُداهن عادل سالم الكلمات، ويخترع حروفاً جديدة للشعر ويودعها صندوق اللغة، ليقتحم عبرها صندوق الحياة المغلق إلا قليلاً، ويدعونا لقراءة (الحبُّ والمطر)، بأبعاده ورموزه ودلالاته العميقة.
في هذا الديوان قصائد تطرح قضايا الإنسان الفلسطيني في عبوره الحيّ كما تجنح إلى وضعه الراهن في طرحٍ عميق ورؤية واضحة، إن الشاعر سالم لا يقدم بيلوغرافيا وطنه فحسب، لكنه بالتأكيد يجترح زمناً معاصراً يتمثل فيه الشعري التأملي للإنسان وعلاقاته بالأشياء، والعالم من حوله، لنقرأ قصيدة بعنوان (كأحلام الشباب قضيت عمري) وفيها يقول: "سنين العمر من عيني تفرُّ... كلمح البرق أسراباً تمرُّ"... "كأني لم أعشْ فيها ليالي... بها الخلانُ أزهارُ تسرُّ"... "كأحلام الشباب قضيت عمري... وفي الأحلام حبات ونهرُ"... "إذا كان الشباب مضى بعيداً... ففي الخمسين فلسفة وشعر...".
أما المرأة فلها حصة الأسد من هذا الديوان، وقد بدا شاعرنا عاشقاً لها حتى الثمالة، موظفاً ثيمة الحب توظيفاً حسياً جمالياً، وروحياً شفيفاً أيضاً متوحداً معها، وقد اجتمعت العاطفة عنده إلى فريحة فياضة جعلته يغرف من بحر الحب ويصيغه شعراً يقرأ: "في القصيدة المعنونة (ونكهة الحب في عينيك تختلفُ" يقول الشاعر: "قبل زهرةَ إن الجسم يرتجف... وأترك فؤادك نار الحبِّ يغترفُ... أكلما نلتقي بَيْن" يغرقُنا؟... كأننا عاشقان البعد نلتحفُ... فقسوةُ البعد كالشاكوش تضربني... والرأسُ يدميه هذا الضرب لو عرفوا... يا من صبرتِ على الآلام عاشقةً... أنا الملومُ عن الهجران أعترف...".
يضم الديوان قصائد متنوعة الثيمات والأغراض قيلت في مناسبات عديدة وبفترات زمنية تمتد من (2005- 2016)، وقد انتظمت القصائد على بحور الشعر الموزون والمقفى والشعر العربي الحديث وقصيدة النثر، نذكر من العناوين: "أنسيت فاتنتي الجميلة؟"، "أنا الغريب بلا أهل ولا وطن"، "كل القصائد من عينيك مدهشة"، "شارون للحرب والعدوان نشوانُ"، "يا عار أمتكم"، "رفيق الآسر"... وقصائد أخرى.
