حديث النسور ... وقائع لم تنشر من قبل عن حرب الاستنزاف حتي نصر أكتوبر ١٩٧٣ للواء "محمد زكى عكاشة" في هذا المناخ الخطير يجيء صدور هذا الكتاب الذي يتميز بالشمول والدقة، فمن أراد الوقوف على صورة متكاملة لتلك المرحلة الدقيقة من تاريخنا، خاصة الموقف العسكري منها ما بين هزيمة 1967 وعبور 1973، سيجد الموقف مفصَّلا مستندا إلى أدق المراجع، ومن أراد الاطلاع على رؤية خاصة من داخل سلاح الجو المصري سيجد تفاصيل فريدة، خاصة حول دور قائد القوات الجوية وقت العبور ومدير الكلية الجوية قبل ذلك أعني اللواء طيار محمد حسني مبارك، الرئيس السابق الآن، والمعزول عن شعبه، أهمية ذلك أنه أول تدوين لدور اللواء طيار محمد حسني مبارك في الحرب، ويحتوي الكتاب على تفاصيل لم أقرأْها في مرجع آخر، ولم أستمعْ إليها أو عنها من خلال أحاديث الرئيس السابق وهذا مما يضفي على الكتاب قيمة خاصة، إذ إنه يذكر الحقيقة التي قد تغيب لظروف لا تخفى، إنني أعتد بصلتي وصداقتي مع اللواء طيار محمد زكي عكاشة صاحب هذه الشهادة الموضوعية الفريدة عن مرحلة رائعة تؤكد أصالة هذه الشعب الذي نعتزّ بانتمائنا إليه, والذي كنا شهودا على تضحياته وعظمته في الأوقات العصيبة، سواء في الماضي أو الحاضر.
