أحمد بن عمر بن إبراهيم بن إسماعيل بن محمد بن هاشم
أستاذ الحديث وعلومه بجامعة الأزهر، وعضو مجمع البحوث الإسلامية.
ولد أحمد عمر هاشم قي 6/2/1941م.
تخرج قي كلية أصول الدين جامعة الأزهر الشريف عام 1961.
حصل على الإجازة العالمية عام 1967م،
ثم عُين معيداً بقسم الحديث بكلية أصول الدين،
حصل على درجة الماجستير قي الحديث وعلومه عام 1969م،
ثم حصل على درجة الدكتوراه قي نفس تخصصه،
وأصبح أستاذ الحديث وعلومه عام 1983م،
ثم عُين عميداً لكلية أصول الدين بالزقازيق عام 1987م،
وفي عام 1995م شغل منصب رئيس جامعة الأزهر.
الوظائف التي تولاها
* عضو مجلس الشعب معين بقرار من رئيس الجمهورية.
* عضو قي المكتب السياسى للحزب الوطني الديمقراطى.
* عضو مجلس الشورى بالتعيين.
* عضو مجلس أمناء اتحاد الإذاعة والتليفزيون.
* رئيس لجنة البرامج الدينية بالتليفزيون المصرى.

قد يطوف الكثير من المسلمين ببت الله الحرام ويتشوق إليه الأكثر، ولكنهم لا يعلمون قصته وهو أول بيت بنى لعبادة الله (عزوجل). وحتى نتعرف على هذه القصة البديعة لابد لنا من قراءة هذا الكتاب الذى وصنعة الدكتور (أحمد عمر هاشم) بأسلوب بليغ يجمع بين الإتقان والسهولة على القارئ.. ففيه يقدم دراسة وافية من هذا البيت المبارك رفعت أعمدتها على آيات القرآن الحكيم والسنة النبوية الشريفة فيتناول خلالهما مكانه البيت وأطوار بناءه منذ بناء الملائكة له وحتى التوسعات الحديثة التى أقامها خادم الحرمين. أيضاً يتعرض بالتفصيل لمعالم البيت الجرام ومنها (الحجر الأسود) وماء (زمزم)، وأخيراً يستعرض خصائص البيت الحرام سواء خصائص مسجده أو حرمه. فيكون بكتابه قدم صفحات قليلة تأخذما إلى سماوات الإيمان الرحبة تطوف بتافى أرجائها لتطعمنا حلاوة الإقتراب من بيت الله وارضه المقدسة.
