كان أرسطو (384- 322 ق. م) فيلسوفاً وطبيباً وعالماً سياسياً شغلت أفكاره العجيبة والقوية كل عقول الناس بما ناقشه هذا الفيلسوف من قضايا فلسفية متشعبة وإنه لم يترك جزء من الفلسفة إلا قال فيه، وبعد إطلاعي على الدراسات النفسية عنده وبخاصة في كتابه (النفس) وجدت هناك لقاء في الفكر وأثراً للمعلم الأول الشيخ اليوناني واضحاً على الشيخ الرئيس ابن سينا (370- 428هـ) في مواضيع عديدة تخص النفس منها، تعريف النفس، تقسيم النفس وقواها، وحدة النفس، فضلاً عن الموضوعات الأخرى، ويمكننا التأكيد بـ (أن ابن سينا بدأ أرسطياً مسايراً التيار السائد في عصره).
