إذا كان من حق هذه الدراسة أن تدعي ممارسة المنهج، فإن أقصى ما تطمح إليه هو أن توصف بحدة الشروط العلمية التي حاولت إلتزامها تحليلاً للعناصر المنهجية والموضوعية في مشروع التحقيب الذي قدمه "محمد مفتاح"، وطموحاً إلى القراءة النقدية التي عزمت على قدر من الجرأة في مواجهة موضوعها مجاوزة "الإنبهار" الذي غالباً ما يثيره مشروع الباحث، وهو يضع في وجه القراءة تركيباً منهجياً لا يخلو من غرابة والتباس وتحد. خاصة إذا تعلق الأمر بالتحقيب؛ ذلك الإشكال الذي تتقاطع في وظيفته قضايا حاسمة ليست العلاقة بين الماضي والحاضر في محور التحليل الثقافي إلا إحداها.
وفي منظور هذه القراءة التحليلية - النقدية كانت بعض المفاهيم النظرية مسعفة في أولها: العلاقة الجدلية بين الواقع، وبين الفكر والإبداع حيث تتنزل القضايا والإشكالات الثقافية ضمن سياقها التاريخي بكل تعقيده وتركيبه. ومن أجل أن تأخذ الأعمال الفكرية والإبداعية وكذا المواقف السياسية مضمونها الملائم في عملية التحقيب، أمكن الاستفادة من مفهوم "أفق الإنتظار" كمنظور ثقافي تاريخي تيسر في إطاره بناء دلالات وثيقة الصلة بآثار الثقافة في التراث والحاضر معاً.
