وفي الكتاب تجري الكاتبة مقارنة بين الإسلام الذي رأته والإسلام الذي شوهته أقلام الغرب ووسائل الإعلام، وتبين موقفه من المرأة والأديان الأخرى. ومن قضايا مصيرية، ومواقف إنسانية، وأمور عقلية ونقدية لا حصر لها يتخلل هذا قصة حياتها منذ النشأة في مقاطعة كيبك الكندية، والعيش وحيدة في أوتاوا للعمل كممرضة، ثم المشاركة في ندوات ونقاشات حول الأديان، والكتاب المقدس والمخطوطات الأثرية التي تحدثت عنه وعن آباء الكنيسة الأوائل وأشهرهم إيريناوس، ومقتبسات عن الأناجيل، ومعجزات المسيح وقصة صعوده إلى السماء، وذكر القرآن لأم المسيح، والتفسير الإسلامي لـ "عبس وتولى" ، وقصص قرآنية أخرى أطلعت عليها الكاتبة، ودرست أسباب نزولها ... وصولاً حتى اعتناقها الإسلام.
