صدرت هذه المختارات لمجموعة (ف 4) لأول مرة عام 2007 وتضم قصص قصيرة ومقتطفات من روايات لثلاث عشر أديبا من أربعة دول وهي الجمهولاية التشيكية والمجر وبولندا وسلوفاكيا، وفي نوفمبر من نفس العام عرضت المختارات في معرض الكتاب الدولي في مدينة براتسلافا بسلوفاكيا.
تنطلق المختارات التي تصور الحياة المعاصرة في منطقة وسط أوروبا من كتابات أدباء معاصرين إدراكا منا - نحن دول مجموعة الـ (فيشاجراد) - بأننا لا نعرف الكثير عن بعضنا رغم الجوار، لقد اعتدنا ان نعيش متجاورين نتقاسم تاريخ مشترك بعد سقوط حائط برلين وخلال العقدين الماضيين انشغلنا بفتح بلادنا علي الغرب وتقديمها لهم، إلي درجة جعلتنا ننسي ما يدور من حولنا.
نعتقد أنه قد حان الوقت لكي نجدد الروابط ونعيد بناء الجسور التاريخية التي أهملت أو ضعفت في السنوات الأخيرة، بهذه المناسبة نقدم هذد "الخريطة الأدبية المتنوعة" مع مطلع الألفية الجديدة باللغة العربية والإنجليزية، تتسم هذه الخريطة بالرفعة والجلال، تفاصيلها أحيانا مضيئة وأحيانا داكنة (كما وصفها الأديب المجري ومحرر المختارات "بال بيكي" في معرض تقديمه للمختارات عند صدورها لأول مرة) غرضنا في هذا هو الانفتاح علي الآخر وتقديم أنفسنا للعالم العربي، نحن علي ثقة بأن الفكر وحده قادر علي أن يقدم أحدنا للآخر ويسقط التصورات المسبقة ويجعلنا نفهم ثقافاتنا.
