وتشمل الكراسة مقدمة وأربعة فصول وخاتمة، حيث يستعرض الفصل الأول سقوط النشأة السلطوية للأحزاب، ويناقش الفصل الثاني نهاية دولة الحزب الواحد، أما الفصل الثالث يتعلق بمداخل إصلاح الحياة الحزبية، وأخيرًا يستفيض الفصل الرابع في شرح رؤية المؤلف عن استراتيجية تطوير الأحزاب السياسية بعد ثورة يناير. في الخاتمة يوضح المؤلف دور الأحزاب كأداة لتحقيق الديمقراطية.
