منذ بضعة أسابيع بدأت أكتب. وعمَا تكتب إمرأة لا تدعي أنها تملك مخيَلة فيَاضة ولا موهبة خاصة في الكتابة؟ تكتب عن نفسها طبعاً. ها هي إذاً طفولتي وها هو شبابي كما أذكرهما. تغيَرت السنغال خلال جيل واحد، ربما من المفيد أن يعرف الجيل الصاعد كيف كانت حياتنا.
"تيلان" أو "المدينة" هي أفريقيا بكل واقعها. "بلاتو" هو الحي المعبَد حيث يسكن الأوروبيون،كباراً، صغاراً والأسياد الجدد من الأفارقة. "من تيلان إلى بلاتو" هي قصة إنتقال مقر سكن عائلة وقصة تحوَلها. وهي ايضاَ قصة طفولة ومراهقة. كيف كان يعيش ويكبر على الطريقة القديمة صغار المسلمين في "داكار"، المدينة الكبرى.
