كان للحافظ أبي العلاء العصار الهمزاني دراسات قرآنية في علم القراءات والتجويد والحديث النبوي الشريف والفقه والعقيدة والوقف والإبتداء في القرآن الكريم. وفي هذا الكتاب يغطي الدكتور طلال وسام البكري جميع الدراسات اللغوية القرآنية عند الهمزاني في دراسة بدأها بفصل تمهيدي تضمن (السيرة والمؤلفات) واربعة فصول: ضم الفصل الأول (الدراسة الصوتية) وجاءت في أربعة مباحث، الأول: في مخارج الحروف وصفاتها، والثاني: الظواهر الصوتية للصوامت، والثالث الظواهر الصوتية للمصوتات، والرابع: أصوات المد... وإشتمل الفصل الثاني (الدراسة الصرفية والنحوية) وجاءت في مبحثين، الأول: ذكر فيها المؤلف بعض القضايا الصرفية التي تناولها العطار الهمزاني حين عرض لبعض الألفاظ التي وردت في بعض النصوص وتغير معانيها تبعاً لتغير أوزانها. أما المبحث الثاني فإختص: بالدراسة النحوية وتضمن دراسة التركيب النحوي من خلال تعدد الأوجه الإعرابية في الجمل الإسمية والفعلية والأساليب التي أدت إلى أختلاف التأويل ومن ثم إختلاف المعاني التي غيرت أنواع الوقف والإبتداء في النصوص القرآنية.
وتضمن الفصل الثالث (الدراسة الدلالية) ويضم مبحثين، الأول: في دلالة الألفاظ، والثاني: في دلالة التراكيب. وإشتمل الفصل الرابع (منهج الهمزاني)، وجاء في أربعة مباحث، الأول: منهجه في إستعمال المصادر اللغوية، والثاني: منهجه في إستعمال الشواهد الشعرية والنثرية كالنصوص القرآنية وأمثال العرب وأقوالهم، والثالث: إستعماله للمصطلحات اللغوية وغيرها، والرابع: أهم الخصائص المنهجية التي إستعملها العطار الهمزاني في ترسيخ مفرداته وكانت متمثلة في جمع آرائه، وترجيحاته، وإستعماله ليعض القراءات الشاذة، وإستعماله للتأويل النحوي وغيرها...
