في هذا الكتاب مجموعةٌ من الدراساتِ الدائرةِ حول المَسْرَحِ في المملكة العربيةِ السُّعودِيّة، بوصفه تجربةً يشوبها الغموضُ لدى البعض، وهم كُثرٌ، خصوصاً ممَّن فقدوا قنواتِ التواصلِ مع هذا المَسْرَحِ، والقائمين عليه، فتكونتْ في أذهانهم صورةٌ نمطيةٌ غالبةٌ، مفادُها أنَّه لا مسرح في هذه البُقعةِ من الوطن العربيّ، إن لم يكن قد تجاوزَ تصورهم إلى الإعتقاد بأنَّ المَسْرَحَ من المحرماتِ في المجتمع السُّعُودِيّ.
لقد تسيّدتْ هذه الفكرة الأذهان رَدْحاً من الزمنِ إلى أنِ اقتحمَ المَسْرَحُ السُّعُودي التظاهرات المسرحية والمهرجانات والمناسبات على إمتداد الوطن العربيّ، وسجَّل حضوراً متدرجَ الصعودِ، من حيث المستوى، وهو ما أسهم في تغييرِ كثيرِ مِنَ المفاهيمِ المغلوطةِ عنه وتعديلها، فنَمَتِ التجربةُ، وتطورت الأدوات، وصار لهذا المَسْرَحِ وجود يفوقُ حدودَ المشاركةِ إلى مستوى التَّنافس.
