مي زيادة أديبة لامعة عاشت في مصر كل عمرها، منذ قدمت للقاهرة بصحبة والدها إلياس زفور زيادة ووالدتها نزهة معمر، عام 1908، وحتى وفاتها عام 1941، كانت حياة مي حافلة بالنشاط الثقافي والإجتماعي، مما جعلها تبرز ويتسع صيتها الأدبي، كتبت في كثير من مجالات الأدب مثل القصة والشعر والمقال والخطبة الأدبية والتراجم الأدبية والرسائل المتبادلة بينها وبين أعلام عصرها نشرت بعد وفاتها وخاصة رسائل جبران خليل جبران وعباس محمد العقاد.
لقد حظيت مي زيادة بمكانة كبيرة في الثقافة العربية في عصرها وإلى الآن لما طرقت مجال من مجالات الكتابة والموضوعات الفكرية والإنسانية التي آثارتها. ونستطيع أن نضيف إلى مجمل ريادة مي، كتاباتها للدراما ولو في صورة بدائية، ربما لو تفرغت لها بالقدر الكافي لكانت قد تركت بها بصمات ذات شأن مثل كتاباتها في المجالات الأدبية الأخرى.
