الفرضيات العنصرية تقسم المجتمع الإنساني إلى أعراق وسلالات عليا ودونية على أساس بعض الخصائص الجسمانية والظاهرية وقد راجت هذه الفرضيات بفضل الدعاية التي تبثها الطبقات الحاكمة في البلدان الرأسمالية والطبقات الحاكمة المرتبطة في الاستعمار التي تستخدم بدورها هذه الفرضيات العنصرية من أجل الحفاظ على سلطانها.
ومؤلف هذا الكتاب يؤكد على بطلان هذه الفرضيات وينبه إلى أن كل قوم لديهم تركيبة داخلية، ولا توجد بين أفراد كل قوم والذين يشتركون في لغة واحدة ودين واحد علاقات واحدة مع وسائل الإنتاج والتوزيع حيث يفرق بينهم التفاوت الطبقي.
كما يؤكد المؤلف على أن الهوية الثقافية والقومية المشتركة لأبناء المجتمعات الشرقية هوية واحدة غير قابلة للتجزئة، ويقسم المؤلف المتحدثين عن الفرضيات العرقية إلى مجموعتين: الأولى تعترف بوجود مبدأ واحد للنوع البشري يتمثل في آدم والثانية ترفض ما هو وارد في العهد القديم وترى وجود عدة مبادئ أو مناشئ للنوع البشري، أي تقول بوجود آدم ثان.
