عبد الغني بن إسماعيل بن عبد الغني النابلسي الدمشقي الحنفي (1050 هـ - 1143 هـ / 1641 - 1731م) شاعر شامي وعالم بالدين والأدب ورحالة مكثر من التصنيف. ولد ونشأ وتصوف في دمشق. قضى سبع سنوات من عمره في دراسة كتابات "التجارب الروحيّة" لِفُقهاء الصوفية. وقد تعدّدت رحلاته عبر العالم الإسلامي، إلى إسطنبول ولبنان والقدس وفلسطين ومصر والجزيرة العربية وطرابلس وباقي البلاد السورية. استقر في مدينته دمشق وتوفي فيها.

تلك هي القصيدة الميمية للشيخ عبد الغني النابلسي النقشبندي الحنفي، والمسماة بنسمات الأسحار في مدح النبي المختار، سار فيها على نهج سابقيه في مدح الحبيب الشفيع والرسول المطيع أمام المرسلين وحبيب رب العالمين وختمها بمدح آله الأخبار وصحابته الأبرار رضوان الله تعالى عليهم أجمعين. وقد بلغت أبياتها إلى مائة وخمسين بيتاً تشتمل على مائة وخمسة وخمسين نوعاً من الأنواع البديعية. وقد زاد المؤلف أنواع لطيفة وفنون ظريفة وقد كتب كل بيت في المتن عند ما يماثله في الهامش على حسب مقتضى الحال. ويتضح فيها براعة المطلع وسهولة اللفظ وعذوبته ووضوح المعنى ورمته كما تجنب الحشو الذي لا طائل منه. وقد ذيل هامشه بشرح البديعية المزرية بالعقود الجوهرية وقد أفرغه بقالب بديع النمط وجمع إليه من المقاطع المنتخبة والأشعار المستعذبة وأضاف إليها طرفاً من الحكايات التي تترنح بها النفوس وبهامش الشرح المسمى قطر الغيث المنسجم على لامية العجم للعلامة الشيخ عبد الرحمن الشافعي.
