وفي هذا الكتاب يحاول المؤلف أن يسجل بعض ما يتعلق بالسحر مستخلصاً بعض ما سجله من القصص الشعبي الذي يتعلق بالسحر. وقد اعتمد في بعض ذلك على روايات الأشخاص الذين التقى بهم في مدن وقرى سلطنة عمان التي زارها لهذا الغرض. كما أضاف إلى ذلك بعض القصص التي تتعلق بالجن.
والمؤلف لم يتدخل بالقصص التي تتعلق بالسحر أو بالجان بل رسمها كما سمعها من رواتها. كما صدر بعض القصص بنبذة مختصرة عن الشخص الراوي فضلاً عن عمره ومنطقة سكناه أو مولده.
