إن الإهتمام بالتعليم هو أولى الأولويات، حيث ترى فيه العديد من الدول مصدراً لقوتها، وتطمح دول أخرى أن تتجاوز من خلاله محنتها، ولعل ذلك ما دعا كل الدول إلى توجيه البحث والإهتمام بمنظومة التعليم بمكوناتها المختلفة.
ويأتي الإهتمام بأحد عناصر هذه المنظومة وهو إدارة التعليم كضرورة علمية وعملية، حيث تعد الإدارة المسؤول الرئيس عن توجيه بل ونجاح المنظومة التعليمية في تحقيق طموحات المجتمع منها، ولعل ذلك الإهتمام لن يكون ذا جدوى دون الحرص على تقديم الجديد في مجال الإدارة التعليمية والمدرسية.
ومن ثم كان الحرص على أن يتضمن هذا الكتاب الحديث في مجال الإدارة والتخطيط التربوي، إضافة إلى تضمينه الكثير من الخبرات المستمدة من المجتمع العربي لتعم الفائدة به.
ولذلك جاء الفصل الأول متضمناً أهم مفاهيم الإدارة وأنماطها، ونشأتها، واشتمل الفصل الثاني على تعريف الإدارة من منظور إسلامي، أما الفصل الثالث فهو يركز على خط الإنتاج الأول في التعليم وهي المدرسة وتنظيمها وأهدافها والجديد فيها ومشكلاتها ومستقبلها.
وتناول الفصل الرابع العنصر البشري، وجاء الفصل الخامس، موضحاً المقصود بمفهوم التنظيم وتحديد معنى التنظيم المدرسي، وأدوار التنظيم، ويتحدث الفصل السادس عن الجانب الهيكلي التنظيمي للتعليم بالمملكة العربية السعودية متضمناً المهام والإختصاصات والصلاحيات وخاصة ما يرتبط بقيادات العمل التعليمي وركز الفصل السابع على المدرسة وتحديداً على العنصر البشري فيها.
وعن الجناح الثاني لهذا الكتاب والذي شمل باقي فصوله، ثم تناول التخطيط التعليمي في الفصل الثامن شاملاً المفهوم والكيفية التي يتم بها التخطيط التعليمي وأنماطه ومشكلاته، ثم جاء الفصل التاسع الذي انصب على الجانب التطويري بالتركيز على التخطيط الإستراتيجي وآلياته وخصائصه ومنهجيته ونماذجه، ويأتي الفصل العاشر والأخير عن العلاقة بين التعليم والتنمية.
