يتناول موضوعاً من أكثر الموضوعات التي تشغل الدول والمؤسسات والهيئات المختصة ذات العلاقة سواء كانت اقتصادية أو أمنية أو اجتماعية، كما يشغل بال ملايين الأسر والأفراد.. ألا وهو موضوع المخدرات، وقد تناولت المؤلفة الموضوع من وجهة نظر علم الاجتماع حيث قامت بدراسة ميدانية لتتعرف على اتجاهات الشباب الليبي نحو مروجي المخدرات ومدمنيها، حيث استعرضت في البداية الاتجاهات والنظريات التي تهتم بهذا الموضوع، ثم تناولت أسباب إدمان الشباب للمخدرات وترويجها من وجهة نظر طلاب الجامعة والمدمنين وذلك من خلال دراسة ميدانية على عينة من طلبة جامعة عمر المختار، وكذلك دراسة حالة لعينة من المدمنين في إحدى مصحات علاج الإدمان، ثم تناول الكتاب التأثيرات الناجمة عن إدمان الشباب للمخدرات وترويجها في المجتمع الليبي، وانتهت بتناول أساليب مواجهة مشكلة إدمان المخدرات وترويجها بين الشباب الليبي، مع بعض التوصيات والمقترحات التي يمكن أن تحد من تفاقم هذه المشكلة وتعالجها ولو جزئياً.
