يبحث المؤلف في كتابه طروحات جريئة حول تاريخ نشوء الأناجيل وفحواها بالإضافة إلى نقد نصي مفيد يتناول العديد من معطياتها. ومن خلال إعادة النظر في ترجمة إنجيل متى من اللغة اليونانية, أثبت المؤلف عدة مفاهيم جديدة: إنجيل متى هو أقدم الأناجيل الأربعة, وليس إنجيل مرقس. هناك متن سابق للإنجيل قد اختفى, أو تم إخفاؤه عمداً, فضاعت آثاره. تؤدي هذه النتائج إلى استنتاج هام وخطير للغاية, وهو أن النص الأصلي للمتن السابق للإنجيل قد تعرض لتحريفات كبيرة على متنه أدت إلى تحريف العقيدة الدينية للإنجيل, حتى أنها أفضت إلى حصول تغييرات جذرية على العقيدة المسيحية.
ويرى الكاتب أن هذا التحريف قام به بعض الكهنوتيين في روما أثناء إعادة تدوين إنجيل متى في الفترة ما بين عامي 70-100للميلاد. تقودنا هذه المفاهيم الجديدة إلى تساؤل هام للغاية: هل الأناجيل الأربعة هي حقاً وحي سماوي منزل بنصه وحرفيته التامة المنزهة؟ أم هل هي كتب مقدسة قام بتحرير بشر. ووصلتنا مترجمة بنصها الأول؟. والأهم من ذلك كله هي النتيجة الكبرى التي يخرج إليها الباحث المنصف عقب التدارس الطويل للكتب السماوية التابعة للديانات الثلاث: اليهودية والمسيحية والإسلام. هذه النتيجة الكبرى, ليست سوى الحقيقة الساطعة والمعجزة الباهرة, التي تقف أمامها العقول والنفوس مبهورة وعاجزة عن المدافعة والرد, ألا وهي أن (القرآن الكريم) وحده, بآياته الكريمة وصحفه المطهرة, يقف نسيج وحده بلا منازع, صافياً منزهاً كاملاً مبرءاً, كما أوحت به الذات الإلهية بالتنزيل الحرفي الدقيق والكامل والمحفوظ, دون أدنى تغيير أو تحريف أو تضاد ترجمة, ودون أدنى يد أو رأي أو اجتهاد لبشر, على مدى أربعة عشر قرناً مضت وقرون غيرها ستأتي.
