الصَّوابُ والخطأ في الاستعمال اللّغويّ مسألةٌ تُغْري الباحثَ ، وتستثيرُهُ ، وتستولي على جلّ اهتمامه في الدّرس اللغويّ ، وتكادُ تصرفُهُ صرفاً تامّاً عن غيرها من مسائل اللغة والنّحو ، وما ذلك إلّا لشرف المقصد ونبل الغاية المتمثّلة بالحفاظ على سلامة اللغة ، وتنقيتها ممّا علق بها من الزّلل والانحراف عن موطن الصّواب ، وكانَ أغلب العلماء الذين تتبَّعوا اللحنَ ، ورفضُوهُ ، يميلونَ في مقاييسهم إلى التَّشدُّد في التّخطئة ، والأخذ بالأفصح ، ونبذ ما عداه ، وإنْ جاءت به لهجةٌ عربيّة ، أو قراءة قرآنيّة ، أو حديث نبويّ شريف ، أو استعمال لعالم لغويّ ثقة ، ومن هؤلاء العلماء مَنْ بدا في مقياسهِ التَّسمُّح والتّيسير على النّاس في استعمالهِم اللغويّ .
