هذا الكتاب سِفر سطعت أنواره في سماء التحقيق، ودارت نجوم فوائده متلألئة في فلك التدقيق؛ فهو سفر جامع بين العقيدة الصافية، وفقه العبادات على مذهب الإمام الشافعي. وأصله الذي اعتمد عليه: هو حديث جبريل، الصحيح الشهير، الذي عُني بتبيان الإسلام والإيمان والإحسان.
ولما أرسل ابن زياد الوضاحي أشعة البيان، وأضواء فقهه على الحديث المذكور في مختصر سماه "فتح الرحمن".. تلقفته المراكز العلمية بالقبول والاستحسان، ورحب به علماء الأمصار، وشاعت نسخه في شتى الأقطار. فتصدى له العلم الحجة الفقيه المتفنن الشيخ سعيد بن محمد باعشن، وحلّى طروسه بهذه العقود البيانية، فشرحه بهذا الشرح "مواهب الديان".
فصَّل المجمل، وحل المشكل، وأزاح الحجب عن نفائسه، وأدناه حتى آض على طرف الثُّمام، وأثراه بتلك المباحث القيمة، وطرز حواشيه بتلك الإضافات المهمة، والتحقيقات السنية، التي يتلهف أذكياء الطلاب إلى ارتشافها من هذا المنهل الروي، وإلى أقل منها أهمية يرحل المتفقهون طاوين البيد.
فكان بهذه المميزات وغيرها قَمِناً بالاقتناء، جديراً بالاعتناء والدراسة، وها هو الكتاب تزفه دار المنهاج إلى طلاب المعرفة يرفل في حلة التحقيق، ويتباهى في ثوبه الزاهي الجديد.
