«ثورة المريدين» رواية جديدة للروائي المغربي سعيد العلوي تشير إلى ثورة يناير 2011، بأسلوب متداخل من عالم متخيل بعودة المهدي وسيرته، مستخدما ضمير الغائب، إلى عالم الواقع، في تنقله بين القاهرة ومراكش.
في «بين المدينة»، المدينة الشاطئية الجميلة في أقصى الجنوب الإسباني، انزوى عبد المولى اليموري ليكتب رواية تاريخية بطلها المهدي بن تومرت الموحدي.. واندلعت انتفاضات «الربيع العربي» حين بلغ اليموري (وقد كان يعيش في الولايات المتحدة الأميركية، محترفًا كتابة السيناريو) مرحلة جد متقدمة في كتابة روايته التي استعان فيها بعدد غير قليل من المراجع التاريخية التي تتصل بالمهدي وعصره وسيرته (وفي مقدمتها كتاب أخبار المهدي للبيدق، أقدم وأشهر كتاب في التأريخ لمؤسس دولة الموحدين)، وفق موقع «اليوم السابع».
ومن خلال التلفزيون، كان يتابع الأحداث قبل أن يقرر الذهاب إلى مصر والنزول إلى ميدان التحرير. هنا سيشرع المهدي بن تومرت فى الظهور، محرضًا، ثم في الاختفاء بعد ذلك.. ستزداد حيرة اليموري عندما سيكتشف أن هناك مخطوطًا ضائعًا دوَّن فيه البيدق سيرة المهدي الحقيقية، لا تلك التي ينسج فيها البيدق بمؤسس الدولة الموحدية صورة «المعصوم».
ستبدأ رحلة البحث عن المهدي، وعن المخطوط المفقود، في جوف أحداث الربيع العربي، وفي الوقت ذاته كان اليموري يحيا صراعًا باطنيًّا تتقاذفه فيه الأحلام والرغبات.
