وقد ركّز إهتمامه، في هذه الروايات، على تصوّر عالم الفقراء الروحيّ والأخلاقيّ المرتبط بوجودهم الماديّ، كما ركّز على عالم شخصيّاته الداخليّ، والمبادئ الإنسانيّة، والأخوّة، والضمير الحيّ، والنفس القادرة على التضحية والمعاناة، وحمل على عاتقه، في رواياته، معالجة الأحداث الجارية آنذاك، ورسم تأمّلاته التحليليّة تجاه الواقع للخروج من أزمة الحياة الّتي كانت سائدة آنذاك، فهاجم الشرّ الإجتماعيّ، ووقف إلى جانب الإنسان البسيط المضطهد الّذي بنى حلمه عليه وآمن به إيماناً كبيراً.
