يشتمل هذا الكتاب على باقة لطيفة من قصائد الحب الرقيقة التي اقتطفها جامعها ممّا أولع به من المقطوعات الغزلية الجميلة، منذ حداثته ولسنين طويلة حتى بلغت مجلّدات عدة. ولمّا أراد اختيار ثلاثين قصيدة منها صعب عليه الأمر، فاستعان بأدباء متذوّقين، ومهّد لكل قصيدة منها بكلمة موجزة تعرّف بصاحبها وعصره، وبالمناسبة التي قيلت فيها، وتبيّن أهم الخصائص التي تميّزت بها.
هذه القصائد باقة أثمار ورياحين غنّاء من مختلف الأشكال والألوان التي تلذّ للعين وتروق للذوق. وسواء أوافقنا جامع هذه القصائد أم لم نوافقه على أنها أجمل ما في شعر الغزل العربي، فإنها حتماً تعبير إنساني عن عاطفة نبيلة قلّ نظيرها في الآداب العالمية، ولعلّها تجنح بقارئها إلى عالم مفعم بالحسّ المرهف والخيال المجنَّح.
