إن السياحة لم تعد نوعًا من الرفاهية، بل أنه يجب علينا اعتبارها عنصرًا مهمًا في تواصل المجتمع وتضامن الأسرة الدولية، وأصبحت كذلك قاطرة النمو الإقتصادي والإجتماعي والحضاري للدول، ويتساوى في ذلك الدول الغنية ذات المصادر المتعددة للدخل وكذلك الدول الساعية إلى النمو بتعزيز مصادر دخلها بتنشيط السياحة لها، إن صناعة السياحة أصبحت من الصناعات التي تقع على رأس أولويات الدول المختلفة، باعتبارها مُدرة للدخل.. وكثيفة العمل.. وباعثة على نمو ورواج العديد من الصناعات والخدمات المرتبطة بها بشكل مباشر أو غير مباشر وتقدرها المصادر المختلفة بما يقرب من 52 صناعة وخدمة.
