تنوعت مدارات الحكاية في الروايات –موضع الدراسة- في كتاب الناقدة الكويتية "سعاد عبد الله العنزي" المعنون بـ "رواية المرأة الكويتية في الألفية الثالثة" بين آفاق متعددة، بدءاً من المحلية، البيئة الكويتية، القديمة والمعاصرة، مروراً بالدول العربية: العراق، اليمن، لبنان، وصولاً إلى الدول العالمية: أميركا، إسبانيا (الأندلس، جرح العروبة)، إنجلترا، السويد، والإغريق القدماء.
ومما لا شك فيه أن الكاتبة هنا أرادت إظهار التنوع والغنى اللذين تتشكل منهما عوالم المرأة، التي لم تقف عند حدود ذاتها، وخارطتها الجسدية ومطالبها الأساسية، بل تجاوزت ذلك إلى رغبات أسمى وأعمق في إرضاء فكرها وعقلها.
يشكل هذا الكتاب مقارنة على نصوص رواية المرأة الكويتية، التي صدرت بين عامي 2000م و2009م، وهي: رواية "العصعص"، ورواية "خذها لا أريدها" لليلى العثمان، ورواية "حجر على حجر" للروائية فوزية الشويش السالم، ورواية "ليلة الجنون" للقاصة منى الشافعي، ورواية "هيفاء تتحدث لكم" للأديبة خولة القزويني، ورواية "ارتطام لم يسمع له دوي" لبثينة العيسى، ورواية "المرأة مسيرة الشمس" لهديل الحساوي، ورواية "عقيدة رقص" لميس خالد العثمان، ورواية "ورود ملونة" لعلياء الكاظمي.
أما أهم المحاور التي تشكلت منها آفاق هذه الدراسة فجاءت في ثلاثة فصول تحت العناوين الآتية: الفصل الأول: مسألة العنونة في الرواية الكويتيةن الفصل الثاني: الصوت السردي في النصوص الروائية، والفصل الثالث: رواية المرأة الكويتية آفاق متعددة من المحلية إلى العالمية.
