فالمرأة تمثل النصف الثاني في المجتمع الخليجي مما يترتب على تبوئها لهذه المكانة البارزة تمتعها بالعديد من الحقوق مقابل إلتزامها بالواجبات المحددة قانوناً، وأهم الحقوق التي من المفترض أن تتمتع بها المرأة الخليجية هي الحقوق السياسية، إذ أن مشاركتها في النشاط السياسي مسألة عدالة ومنطق؛ فالمبدأ الديمقراطي يتطلب منح كل شخص جزء من السلطة السياسية؛ وما المرأة إلا جزء من المجتمع، فلذا لا بد أن تتمتع بحقها في الإنتخاب والترشح وحقها في تقلد الوظائف العامة، وتولي المناصب السياسية والقيادية كمواطنة داخل بلادها...
