تصور هذا الرواية مأساة المسلمين فى شبه جزيزة القرم - شمال البحر الأسود - وتروى تفاصيل "السنوات الرهيبة" التى عاشها المؤلف وأسرته وأمته منذ الثورة البلشفية - الروسية - وحتى الحرب العالمية الثانية.
وهى إحدى القضايا العالمية المآساوية المتكررة للمسلمين، ولكافة الشعوب المستضعفة وتتشابه إلى حد بعيد مع مأساة الفلسطينيين، لكنها لم تحظ بالإنتشار فى منطقتنا العربية إلا فى نطاق المهتمين بالتاريخ. وهاهى تدلف إلى المكتبة العربية من الباب الملكى (الأدب) عبر ترجمتها إلى السلسلة التى قدم لها الدكتور / محمد حرب بمقدمة إضافية تؤرخ للقضية وللأديب.
