"القرآن الكريم" هو أشهر من أن يعرف، فهو كتاب أحكمت آياته، وبهرت الخلق معجزاته، تنزيل من حكيم حميد، آيات نزلت من حول العرش على سيد ولد آدم، فحولت حياة العرب من شقاء لسعادة، ومن ذلة لسيادة، وأبدلتهم بجهلهم علماً، وبهمجيتهم ثقافة وحضارة، وما هو إلا أن وعوها حتى نفشت فيهم روحاً علوياً جديداً فاقوا به الملائكة تقي ووقاراً، والأكاسرة همة وإقتداراً، فجالوا في العالم جولة القوي العادل، ففتحوا نصف الكرة الأرضية في أقل من نصف قرن، والرحمة ملء قلوبهم، والحق رائدهم، وحَمْل الهدى إلى الناس باعثهم، يصحبهم العلم، ويلازمهم العدل، حتى قال فيهم حكيم هذا القرن الفرنسي غوستاف ليبون: (ما عرف التاريخ فاتحاً أرحم ولا أعدل من العرب).
لم يزد على هؤلاء العرب الذين لم يكونوا شيئاً مذكوراً، غير هذا الكتاب الإلهي الذي اتخذوه، دستوراً، فملأ بهم الكون أجمعه، وصيرهم بحار علم، ونجوم هداية، ووضع في أكفهم زمام العالم.
وهذه الرسالة "البرهان على سلامة القرآن الكريم من الزيادة والنقصان"، كتبها الشيخ سعدي ياسين وهو من كبار علماء دمشق، ليرد على أحد المبشرين وهو القس البروتستانّي في نلسن الدانمركي، الذي كتب رسالة دعاها "أصدق الأقاويل على صحة الثوراة والأناجيل"، تعرض فيها للقرآن الكريم وشكك في سلامته؛ وليبرهن العلامة الشيخ سعدي ياسين على سلامة القرآن الكريم خطّ، رسالته هذه مبيناً تاريخ المصاحف ومستعيناً "بجمهور الصحابة الذين بلغوا أربعة وعشرين ومائة ألف صحابي كلهم تنافسوا بحفظ القرآن الكريم العظيم وإستظهاره، ومستعرضاً الشروط الذي أثبت عليها القرآن الكريم.
