لا نعرف لسيد قطب سوى بضع صور، أشهرها تلك التي يجلس فيها صامتا شاحبا في قفص الاتهام، ينتظر حكم الإعدام الذي أصدرته ((محكمة الثوار)) ونفذ فيه مع رفيقيه محمد يوسف هواش وعبد الفتاح إسماعيل يوم 29 آب / أغسطس 1966. وعلى الرغم من عشرات الكتب ومئات الدراسات والمقالات التي تناولت حياته وفكره، والتي رفعته إلى مستوى الرمز والأسطورة، فإن جانبا أساسيا ومهما في سيرة سيد قطب لم يعرض على الجمهور، وقد جهد الأعداء قبل الأصدقاء لإخفائه وتغييب ملامحه وطمس آثاره. فكان سيد قطب الشهيد مظلوما مرتين، مرة في رحلة السجن والعذاب والموت، ومرة في مؤامرة الصمت والتزوير. في هذه الدراسة يسعى الدكتور سعود المولى للكشف عن مجموعة من الزوايا المعتمة والغائبة وسط طوفان التجاذب والجدل حول فكر سيد قطب وشخصيته وعلاقته بجماعة الإخوان المسلمين.
