إضطهاد المسيحيين تعبير بالغ القسوة، فهو يثير إيحاءات مخيفة كالتهجير والترحيل والإفتراء والتعذيب والإعتداء الجسدي ونزع الملكة والقتل - ظواهر يتعرض لها المسيحيون في العالم الإسلامي بصورة متزايدة.
الإضطهاد بالتأكيد ليس التعبير المناسب لوصف وضع جميع المسيحيين في العالم الإسلامي لكنه مناسب حقاً للتعبير عن منحى للتطور في هذا الإتجاه، فما من بلد ذي أغلبية مسلمة إلا ويعاني فيه المسيحيون بصورة متزايدة من التمييز.
مشاركتهم في الحياة السياسية والإجتماعية والإقتصادية تُقيّد مرة بقوة القانون ومرة بفعل التمييز الفعلي على أرض الواقع؛ والإعتداءات ذات الدوافع الدينية على المسيحيين وعلى أسس حياتهم بهدف إدخالهم في الإسلام أو تهجيرهم، بشكل جزءاً من الحياة اليومية من نيجيريا حتى إندونيسيا.
