في عالم ظالم، وفي أوضاع عربية مهلهلة، يشعر المرء أحياناً بالإحباط، يفكر بما آلت إليه أحوال الأمة، وينتابه شعوز بالمرارة والغمة، يحاول التحليل، فيواجه المستحيل، يلقي بالفرضيات من كل صوب، فترتد عليه رافضة العقل والصواب، ترفض العنف فيقال عنك مهاون، ترفض القمع فتتهم بمحاولات زعزعة الأمن، لا تنثني أمام العواصف والرياح، فتقذف بسهام التشدد والتطرف، تحارب التطرف فيقال بأنك مهاون، تدعو إلى روح الدين الإسلامي المتسامح، فيتهمك الجهلة بالعلمانية والانحراف تدعو إلى سيادة العقل وتحكيم العقلاء، فتتهم في عقيدتك ودينك". هذا النص هو مقطع مختار من مجموعة المقالات التي احتواها هذا الكتاب والتي تم نشرها سابقاً من قبل مؤلفها وهو الصحفي المعروف سعد بن طفلة العجمي في صحيفتي الشرق الأوسط واللندنية" و"الاتحاد" الإماراتية بعضها نشره المؤلف هنا كما ورد نشرها في الصحيفة. وبعضها الآخر أورده هنا ولكن بعد تعديل بسيط أجراه عليها.
يحوي هذا الكتاب تشكيلة منتقاة لمقالات نشرها الكاتب في صحف عربية، اختيرت لأهميتها بتسجيل رأيه فيما يمر بنا من أحداث في هذه المرحلة، فالكتاب عبارة عن رأي كاتبه الذي أراد تسجيله كي يعرف الآخرون أو من سيأتون بعدنا عن رأي بعضنا فيما يدور حولنا.
الكاتب يرى أن تسجيل رأيه وآراء غيره حق للأجيال القادمة علينا ويعتقد بأن الرأي يستمد أهميته من كونه حق طبيعي من حقوق.. أي إنسان!!
