في هذا العمل نلامس بقوة بعضاً من أفكار (بدر)، هذيانه اليقظ الذي اختبأ في نصه الشعري، خساراته، نساءه اللواتي أشفقن عليه أكثر مما أحببنه، وهنا خيال خصب أراد به الكاتب أن يصف ذاته عبر السياب، الذات الجوالة، المغامرة، المنكسرة، الساخطة، ورغبة هذا الغربي المسكون بالشرق بالغوص في أماكن محظورة من حياة شاعر التقت في جسده وروحه أحزان العالم.
