"سبائك الذهب في معرفة قبائل العرب "كتاب البغدادي السويدي عن كتاب القلقشندي المصري "نهاية الأدب في معرفة أنساب العرب" وهو من أحسن ما ألّفه في علم الأنساب وجمع كثيراً من القبائل والشعوب، غير أنها كانت مرتبة على حروف المعجم، فإذا أراد الإنسان أن يوصل نسب قبيلة متأخرة بقبيلة متقدمة يعسر عليه ذلك، لاحتياجه إلى مراجعة مواطن كثيرة منه حتى يتيسر له ما هنالك.
وقد أحب محمد أمين البغدادي أن يهذبه فيجعله على ترتيب مخالف لترتيبه، وأسلوب مغاير لأسلوبه، وذلك بأن يوصل آخر القبائل بأوائلها بخطوط تمتد من الأباء إلى أبنائها، واضعاً كل اسم في ضمن دائرة تحيط به، وما ذكره على القبائل من التفصيل والبيان يذكر ذلك بين الخطوط ومبيناً له أتم بيان، وقد حذف منه شيئاً يسيراً، وزاد عليه كلاماً كثيراً، ملحقاً به أنساب بعض الملوك وغيرهم، مبتدئاً الأنساب من آدم أبي البشر لزيادة الفائدة وقد رتب البغدادي كتابه هذا على ثلاثة عشر باباً: الباب الأول: في فضل علم الأنساب وفائدته وسيس الحاجة إليه. الباب الثاني: في بيان من يقع عليه اسم العرب وذكر أنواعهم وما ينخرط في سلك ذلك. الثالث: في معرفة طبقات الأنساب وما يلتحق بذلك الرابع: في ذكر مساكن العرب القديمة التي درجوا منها إلى سائر الأقطار. الخامس: في بيان أمور يحتاج الناظر في علم الأنساب إليها. السادس: في معرفة أنساب الحرب وبعض الترك والروم والسودان. السابع: في ذكر القبائل التي ذكرها النسابون ولم يلحقوها بقبيلة معينة. الثاني في ذكر القبائل التي اختلف فيها هل هي من العرب أو من غيرهم. التاسع: في معرفة ديانات العرب قبل الإسلام وعلومهم. العاشر: في ذكر بعض مفاخرات العرب الواقعة بين قبائلهم وما ينجر إلى ذلك. الحادي عشر: في ذكر أيام حروب العرب في الجاهلية ومبادئ الإسلام. الثاني عشر: في ذكر نيران العرب في الجاهلية. الباب الثالث عشر والأخير: في ذكر أسواق العرب المعروفة فيما قبل الإسلام.
كتاب يبحث في القبائل العربية وبطونها وهو يذكر اسم القبيلة وضبطها، ويذكر البطون ومن أي القبائل هي ويورد في الكتاب رسوما في تسلسل الأنساب، ويذكر أيضا تراجم لبعض الذين نسبت إليهم قبائل أو بطون عربية
