قصائد أحمد نجم التي ضمّها هذا الكتاب، «الطيور تفقد بوصلتها»، عامرة بالحُبَ للإنسان والمكان. الإنسان الصنو والشبيه؛ الإنسان المقتلع من مكانه وزمانه والمهاجر كطائر فقد بوصلته. والطائر/الإنسان هذا، وإن حطّ وألقى عصا الترحال- شمالاً بارداً في غالب الأحيان- يظلّ أسير الحنين إلى مكانه الأول؛ مكان الطفولة والشمس والبحر الزبرجديّ وسور المدينة/الحلم المفقود، أو عكّأ التي سُلبت وما يشبهها من مدن عربية تتفكّك وتتداعى الواحدة تلو الأخرى.
هل نحن شعبُ طائر، مقتلع، مهاجر، مهجّرٌ وعلى سفر دائم كلّما أقمنا قليلاً ركلتنا الأرض فتفرّقنا في جهاتها الأربع، ثمّ يقال لنا:
سِرْ كَما سارَ / جَدُّكَ المَنْكوبُ / عَلى هذا الدَّرْبِ / غادَرَ جَنَّتَهُ قَسْراً / رَفَعَ خَيْمَتَهُ كَرَماً / اتَّخَذَ الفَجْرَ صلاةً / أَوْدَعَ أَسْرارَ الأَعْشابِ / لِأَحْفادِهِ / خَبَّأَ ذِكْرَياتِ / جَنَّتِهِ / في شِغافِ القَلْبِ…
جَدِّي لَمْ يَعُدْ / لكِنَّهُ صَمَد.
