وُلد ماتياس إينار في نيور في 11 يناير عام 1972 ، وهو كاتب ومُترجم فرنسي .
وقد درس في معهد اللغات و الحضارات الشرقية بباريس زهي دروس عربية وفارسية . وأقام في الشرق واستقر في برشلونة عام 2000.

فاز ب جائزة غونكور في 3 نوفمبر 2015 على روايته بوصلة (رواية)

كنت أستمع إلى حديثها شاردَ الذهن، مُستغرقًا في تأمّلها. بالرّغم من هزالها والهالات السود تحت عينيها، كان وجهها ينضح بالقوّة والتصميم والحنّو في الوقت عينه. نظراتها كانت تشعّ بلهيب أفكارها؛ صدرها كان يبدو أكثر ضمورًا من ما كان عليه قبل بضعة أشهر؛ كانت تقويرة كنزتها من الكشمير الأسود، تكشف عن طرفٍ من اللون عينه، لثوبها الداخلي الذي يَظهر خطّ حمّالته الرفيع تحت الصوف وسط الكتف. وكان النمش الذي يُبرقع بشرتها حيث العظمة الناتئة التي تتوسط قفصها الصدري، ينتشر على طول طرف ثوبها الداخلي وصولًا إلى عظمتي الترقوة اللتين يتدلّى فوقهما قرطان من أذنَيْها.
