Book Description
"المحاورات الثلاث بين هيلاس وفيلونوس" أول كتاب نشره باركلي بعد انتقاله من أيرلندا، وطنه الأصلي، إلى لندن. وكان ذلك عام 1713. وقد ظهرت طبعة ثانية للمحاورات عام 1725. أما الطبعة الثالثة التى ظهرت عام 1734، فقد عدل فيها باركلي تعديلات طفيفة، وأصدرها مع الطبعة الأخيرة لكتاب "المبادئ" في مجلد واحد. وهذه الطبعة الثالثة للمحاورات هي التي نقدمها للقارئ العربي، بالإضافة للتصدير الذى كتبه باركلي فيما بعد إليها. ونحن ننقلها عن الأصل الإنجليزي الذى نشره جورج سامبسون George Sampson لمؤلفات باركلي علم 1897.
"والمحاورات" أول كتاب يختار باركلي فيه طريقة الحزار للتعبير عن أفكاره الفلسفية. وهي طريقة أكثر سهولة من العرض المذهبي الذى تلتقي به في كتاب "المبادئ" من ناحية واستطاع باركلي عن طريقها من ناحية أخرى أن يجمع الإعتراضات التي كانت قد أثيرت حول مذهبه كما نشره في "المبادئ" ويقوم بتفنيدها واحدا بعد الأخر.
وطريقة الحوار طريقة قديمة استخدمها أفلاطون في شرح أفكار أستاذه سقراط وفي شرح أفكاره هو. ولكن استخدام باركلي لطريقة الحوار في كتاب "المحاورات الثلاث" لا يعني مطلقا أنه كان متأثا بأفلاطون عند كتابتها. ولم يظهر تأثر باركلي بأفلاطون حقا إلا في فترة متأخره من حياته.
