يحتل بيار بورديو (2002- 1930) مكانة خاصة في مدرسة علم الإجتماع الفرنسي، إذ أن أعماله مست أسس ومنطلقات علم الإجتماع نفسه وإن طغى على أبحاثه طابع الميدانية.
وقد أثارت كتاباته وتساؤلاته المنهجية والنظرية بل وإستفزازاته حسب البعض) كما هائلاً من ردود الفعل من مناوئة ومتعرضة ورافضة ومشككة في نوايا الشخص ومتهجمة ومحتقرة.
واستحق عن جدارة صفة المفكر المشاكس أو المشاغب الأكاديمي أو المفكر الإستثنائي قد يسأل سائل ما المقصود بالإستثناء أمدح أم ذم!... وهو شغب يستحق تفهماً ونظرة عميقة منها تتأسس رؤية واضحة منهجاً ونظرياً، وتُستمد قواعد عمل ومساءلة تحفز البحث وتغوص في خبايا ومنطلقات المسألة غير مكتفية بقشور التحليلات.
بدأ مساره العلمي دارساً للفلسفة، ثم في إطار خدمته العسكرية / المدنية، استغل وجوده في الجزائر كأستاذ بها، المستعمرة الفرنسية آنذاك، فوجه جهده لدراسات الأناسة وعلم الإجتماع، وكانت حصيلة ذلك التجربة كتاب إجتماعيات الجزائر.
تدرج في سلك التعليم الفرنسي من جامعة السوربون إلى مدرسة الدراسات العليا في العلوم الإجتماعية ومعهد علم الإجتماع الأوروبي لينتهي به المطاف في كرسي علم الإجتماع الأوروبي لينتهي به المطاف في كرسي علم الإجتماع في أعلى المنابر الأكاديمية الفرنسية، الكوليج دو فرانس، معوضاً الراحل رايمون آرون (R.Aron)، وعرفت عنه مواقف سياسة مشهودة، وبرحيله فقدت الجامعة الفرنسية آخر عمالقتها الدوليين.
وسواء تعلق الأمر بإقتراحات إبستيمولوجية لممارسات المعرفة أو بعلم إجتماع جديد للممارسات العادية، فإن مواقف بورديو النقدية تعبر عن إختيارات نظرية وأنطولوجية حول ما هو مجتمعي، من المهم وصفها وتسليط الضوء عليها، وإبراز منطلقاتها وعلاقتها مع توجهات في فلسفة اللغة والظاهراتية بغية إلمام حسن ببعض مقترحات بورديو في سياقها ومنبعها النظري.
