هناك في القارة الأوربية او الامريكية او غيرها من البلاد التى انتقلت إليها عدوى المدنية والتكنولوجيا المعاصرة.. يقبع أحدهم في بيته او عمله محاطا بوسائل وآلات العصر مما تتيح له حياة مليئة بالرفاهية. فهو يجلس في بيته في الطرف الغربي من الكرة الارضية يشاهد ما يحدث على طرفها الشرقي ، او يستقل حافلة تنقله إلى دولة أخرى في رحلة كانت تستغرق شهورا فيما مضى.. ولكن هل يخطر على بال هذا الانسان المتمدين العائش في ظلال القرن العشرين وما بعده ان هناك من يعيش في الغابات مرتديا الجلود اكلا للاعشار والفواكه من على أشجارها كالقرود.. أو حتى في أحيان أخرى للحوم البشر؟! هل يخطر على باله ان هناك اماكن لا زالت في نطاق العصر الحجري؟! إذا لم يخطر على باله هذا . وهو الغالب . سيكون هذا الكتاب مفاجأة له بما يحتويه .. ففيه يتحدث المؤلف ( جمال الكاشف) بأسلوب عذب تلقائي عن شعوب وقبائل لا نعرف عنها شيئا.. وفي المقابل هى أيضا لا تعرف عنا شيئا فيتحدث عن قبائل "كاماتورا" التى لا تعرف الشيب والصلع .. وكذلك عن لغز اختفاء شعب "أناسازي" .. أما "جيفارو" فيستحوذون على إنتباه القارئ حتما بعاداتهم في جمع الجماجم الصغيرة .. أنه كتاب حافل بالغرائب والعجائب التى كنا نعتقد بوجودها في قصص الخيال فقط.
ماذا تقول عن مجتمع نساؤه السافرات عاملات ، ورجاله المقنعون عاطلون بالوارثة ؟.. وقبيلة رجالها هواة صيد الجماجم ؟ .. وقوم يعشقون العسكرية ويشربون الدماء؟.. وغيرهم يمجدون الأجداد ، ويرقصون للمطر ؟ .. وعشائر تكره النور؟.. المؤسف ان اغلب هذه القبائل والشعوب المتخلفة لم تكن مجهولة ، لكنها وإن انت منعزلة نائية إلا ان المستعمر كان يعرفها حق المعرفة وكم قاسى من سهام ابنائها وحرابهم الكثير ، وقد أبقى على بداوتهم وتأخرهم لأنه كان واثقا من ان أخذهم بأسباب العلم والمدنية وبال عليه.
