من هنا، كان تدريس التربية الاسلامية ضرورة شرعية ومهمة وطنية على حد سواء. وتجسيداً لذلك قام المؤلف بحكم تخصصه الدقيق في مناهج التربية الإسلامية وطرق تدريسها، وخبرته الطويلة في هذا المجال التي تمتد لأكثر من ثلاثين عاماً، بدراسة علمية استقصى فيها كل جديد من الأصول النظرية والنماذج والتطبيقات العملية في تدريس التربية الاسلامية لتشكل فصول هذا الكتاب، وذلك تلبية للحاجة الى تأليف كتاب شامل لموضوعات التربية الاسلامية تتحقق فيه المعايير العلمية المطلوبة في تأليفه، وثانيهما المساهمة في تحسين واقع تدريس التربية الاسلامية. ولقد راعى المؤلف في تأليف الكتاب الترتيب المنطقي لموضوعات فصوله التي توزعت على ستة عشر فصلاً جاءت كما يلي: الفصل الاول : مدخل الى تدريس التربية الاسلامية، الفصل الثاني : منهاج التربية الاسلامية في مراحل التعليم العام، الفصل الثالث: اساليب التربية الاسلامية، الفصل الرابع: الوسائل التعليمية في التربية الاسلامية، الفصل الخامس: النشاط في التربية الاسلامية، الفصل السادس: التقويم في التربية الاسلامية، الفصل السابع : الخطط الدراسية للتربية الاسلامي وكتبها المدرسية في التعليم العام، الفصل الثامن : طرق التدريس العامة، الفصل التاسع: الاتجاهات الحديثة في تدريس التربية الاسلامية، الفصل العاشر :التخطيط لتدريس التربية الاسلامية، الفصل الحادي عشر : تدريس القراءن الكريم تلاوة وتفسيرا وحفظا، الفصل الثاني عشر : تدريس الحديث النبوي الشريف، الفصل الثالث عشر : تدريس التوحيد-العقيدة ، الفصل الرابع عشر: تدريس الفقه والعبادات، الفصل الخامس عشر : تدريس السيرة النبوية والتهذيب-الاخلاق، الفصل السادس عشر : تدريس الثقافة الاسلامية، الفصل السابع عشر : تدريس التربية الاسلامي -مشكلاته وتطويره.
