نَشَرَ برشت (برخت) وهو طالب، أشعاراً وقصصاً ومقالات. أي أنه بدأ مبكراً بكتابة القصة، ولكنه ورغم تألقه في هذا المجال، فإن الدارسين اهتموا ببرشت (برخت) ككاتب مسرحي أولاً، ثم بالدرجة الثانية كشاعر، وأخيراً بالدرجة الثالثة كقاص روائي. لذا يأتي هذا الكتاب الذي ضم ترجمة لـ (66) قصة لتكون بمثابة تعريف لقراء العربية على برشت كقاص بعد أن عرفوه جيداً كمسرحي وشاعر وعلى الرغم من ذلك فإن هذه الـ (66) لا تمثل كامل الثروة القصصية لبرخت الذي مثل أدبه الأدب الاشتراكي الإنساني.
